Mike McCall and I had fasted for ten days in preparation to participate in "A Theology of Suffering and Healing" (four nights at First Baptist Church of Galt, California). This was one of the Worship portions.

In my autobiography (chapter 44), following ch 33, “That Michigan Winter with The Stan Stone Show”, I met the Choir Director for House of Prayer Church of God in Christ Joseph Plair seemed older than by a few years. He was already an ordained preacherpastor and was gifted with spiritual musical abilities-both to play piano and to lead 3-part songs heavy on repetition with an improvisational fou...

Baby Mary was lying on a carpet at Alpha and Omega. The VHS camera was on a tripod and I was attempting to record this song based one of the first stories I had been told as a boy in Sunday School.

Adding Bass to "Turn Your Worries into Prayer"

I have considered myself a Bass Player since High School. I always enjoyed hearing how Greg would approach the Bass line that he would choose for my chord progressions and lyrics.
Drum Mix--Boundary Lines

Jeremiah played drums on this song while he was attending his Senior Year at Coldwater High School. This was the mix sent home with me because I hadn''t finished writing the lyrics and wanted to hear what might fit. Our final mix doesn't feature these heavy drums. I wish it did.

1999: The Whosoever Will Choir (2nd Service) Notice the boy sitting behind the piano running an overhead projector. We would switch to video projector in the y2K. We had a cameraman who 'learned' the song when he heard it at first service. He decided to sing along (next to the camera). 🙂 In 1999, it had been 17 years since I had sung in this genre. I committed to others what had been entrusted ...

Very nice
>>from 2024 to 2011>> Good message, Preacher.
I hope this is open to the public
I haven't seen a post is awhile, then the first version of this was removed. Bummer. But I am pleased to hear this one!
That was great Scott. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
My niece is so precious!
what the fuck dude?
Isaiah 51:6 6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail. Psalm 121 1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains- where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. 8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
When Chisholm was 75, he wrote in a letter: “My income has not been large at any time due to impaired health in the earlier years which has followed me on until now. Although I must not fail to record here the unfailing faithfulness of a covenant-keeping God and that He has given me many wonderful displays of His providing care, for which I am filled with astonishing gratefulness.” Great is His faithfulness to His children :)
corrections on sept 14th the smaller strom flag was replaced with the larger garrison flag - 4 soldiers were killed during the bombardment
Yes, Mike Crabill played bass. They recorded a 45 rpm (Love Handles/Man is Blind). I seem to remember that in their practice hall, sometimes people ran reel-to-reel recorder but I don't know if any of their songs exist. Their 45 really wasn't the best example of their band's unique sound. I am FB friends with Chuck Burdette (rhythm and vocal) and Dave Davis (lead guitar). The drummer, Dale Peavy is deceased. As well, the lead singer, Daryl Frasier, is also deceased.
my mom loved this song
Oh thank you for posting this again
I love this!
love it!
You really have a great skill with editing.
@MIDNIGHTCATRM We shouldn't be posting personal messages on other peoples vids unless we are discussing the vids content. It's kind of rude. I'll check it out but in the future just click my icon in your friends list & private message me. My Apologies.
@MIDNIGHTCATRM Sadly always more where they came from. Be careful & if anyone starts harassing you again feel free to call on me as back up.
@MIDNIGHTCATRM Hi. When I get bored I surf 1812 vids. Work has been non existent lately. This came up on a resent search. In spite of of the whole "Only Americans go to heaven" theme which was more then a bit offensive I gave a "Thumbs up" for it as he was honest enough to label it (dramatic narrative). Preachers always preach & I must say if he was a Canadian Preacher Giving a God punished the wicked Americans speech I'd probably attend his churchGive the devil his due, this guy is pretty good.
Very dramatic. Not particularly accurate but you are not claiming to be a historian. I'll give a thumbs up for the performance but I really wish someone in the US would at least try to learn from history instead of twisting it in to a propaganda film.
That was absolutely awesome
Wonderful........I love it when you rock out !!
Love the dual screen shot of you and Lexi.....terrific editing...
Thanks, Christy. Like me, you didn't have a 'normal' experience as a child. I get more blessed through the process of subtitling. If you turn on CC, you can also 'translate' it into Spanish, Filipino, etc (on this particular version of the sermon).
Thank you Rob. I love this Mom's day message.
Is this on world radio too? Hugs Natasha xox
Huh?
John Lennon didn't have to come up with the idea of this song dude, he just helped to make it come to life, that doesn't mean he believes in a god.
hmmm....Love, Peace, and ANGER, huh? You're certainly entitled to your opinion.
Golly, I grew up with John Lennon. I really don't think he'd be so indignant... It's working-class poetry...that's all. No publishers, no ownership, ideas in the air, man.
I can lead my own way pastorob. I don´t need religious leaders or politicians. God gave us free will u know, u should stick to it. The only problem with the world is people blindly following their so called "leaders". Follow ur own will and love the ones around u. I´m sure God, whoever u think he is, will be pleased. Peace.
Well, we do what we can with what we have...
I don't think it was religion that was energizing Chapman's task. On my most recent visit to an airport video store, I picked up a DVD of the film "IMAGINE". Have you seen it? Remember John allowing this homeless guy/fan to come into the mansion? The skinny, sleep-deprived man was telling John how his songs were written directly to him. John him something to eat.
We are all God's people; we have to get along and the [religious leaders] have to lead the way. If they don't do it, who else is going to do it? They're not going to do it and it's left to musicians or to someone else to deal with it. It's like the peace movement in the Sixties - musicians got through [to people] by getting out there and doing peace concerts but we don't seem to do them any more. . . If John Lennon were alive today he'd be leading it with a vengeance. --Elton John
"...I love the idea of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the beautiful stories about it, which I loved in Sunday school and I collected all the little stickers and put them in my book. But the reality is that organised religion doesn't seem to work. It turns people into hateful lemmings and it's not really compassionate." (continued...)
Back in the day, I read that a certain Jesus Freak had somehow gotten through to John's people for permission to change 'one line' in IMAGINE. Imagine there's a heaven . . . In the interview, John said something like "He missed the point."
...then He finally sings about God and says, "God is a concept by which we measure our pain..." I covered that album's tunes as a young, beginning guitarist/screamer. But didn't get what he meant about Love, Peace, and God; As a much older man, I don't think that early 70's Lennon got it either.
...so as a kid it was Mark Twain and John Lennon for me. More popular than Jesus? Yeah, for me. So, his sermons were focusing more and more on LOVE.
Well, my mother died when I was 5. I had an older sister who brought the Beatles into the house via Ed Sullivan. Rubber Soul was the first mention of love to this motherless child (The Word). You know that song?
I turned my life over to the Unseen at the age of 26. For several years I had been somewhat an agnostic taoist (ala pop-america). At the time I was not a father. Years later, I have a wife, three sons, and one daughter. They all like the Beatles too though they are ignorant of what it meant to live through the era. I fully expect them to go to heaven when they die as well.
Oh my goodness. Golly, who would have that a simple case of 'show and tell' would bring forth such potty mouth? You're missing the point, Mick. Anyway, my son played the drums, Jamie played the electric guitar, Greg played the Bass. It was a fun project and provokes some good questions, I think.
"No one, I think, is in my tree..." Any long-time Lennon-watcher ought to see 'respect' for the memory of the man.
I've written and recorded lots of songs. This is more like what Weird Al does with a song. I have deep respect for John Lennon (the child, the teen, the young man, and the one who was just 'starting over' when he was killed). He was a wonderfully gifted man. My borrowing of his melody and chord progression is a tribute. I was one who listened closely to every sermon he preached publicly. He was not an atheist. He hungered for transcendence long before he went to India.
One has to click 'view all comments' to see that there's more... The word is LOVE. Rubber Soul. Lennon's message is intact. Incomplete, but intact. There is no twisting of Lennon's words here. His recording remains his recording. I recorded this song. He, himself, said that nobody owns music. Surely, there is nothing new under the sun.
It seems that Lennon respected the person of Jesus Christ--not as the Son of God--but I don't think he would have mocked the real message of Jesus (even as recorded in the Bible). Someone show me that I'm wrong about that.
Funny, I haven't ever killed anybody in Jesus' Name. I don't expect that I ever will either.
You guys might wanna to listen to "Imagine" again. Neither one has quoted it correctly. As for the person who said that Lennon didn't know the Way, the Truth, and the Life...I don't know about that. I know he was certainly looking for God at different junctures in his life. Remember when he went up in the helicopter with the Maharishi? You guys probably don't know that story. You haven't studied enough.
